...100 posts of complete Kayleigh-ness!
I had the honor, no....privilege to go to the happiest place on Earth today. And I'm not talking about Disneyland, oh no. *shakes head*
The BYU Bookstore.
I figure for my 100th post, who better to write about than the establishment that brought me some spice to my blog (at least in my eyes....it was just so random when I got this comment from some guy from the Bookstore trying to make my feelings better or something...look in the comment section for this post to see what he said).
To commemorate the event, like I said earlier, I was able to go to the very store that brought my heart rate up monumentally and made me feel as though my soul was escaping as I ascended the steps. Upon entering, a terrifying sight entered my eyes. Mostly the sight of about 300 people crammed into the entire place, scrambling to find the books they needed, and waiting in line to purchase said books that were going to cost more than the first car they ever bought. It was daunting. I then saw an older man with a name tag who obviously worked there, and I turned to Allison saying, "Public enemy #1" or something to that effect.
Well, I continued onward, trying to look at the prices of the books I needed to buy, and seeing if they at all compared with the prices of the books online. Basically, it was near impossible considering how many people were stuffed in that room. It was ridiculous. After a little while, and after many rantings and ravings in my head about how much I hate buying books, I found what I needed and got in line. Over the intercom, they announced that the "end of the line can be found near the back wall and the line wait is about 30 minutes."
*Imagine my eyes widening, some inward swearing, and maybe a little bit of laughing about how ridiculous the situation was*
So, I went to find the line, and had to stand in a line to get in the line. That doesn't even make sense! That's how chaotic that bookstore was!! I got in line, started getting uncomfortably hot because I still had my coat and scarf on because it was fuh-reezing outside and of course winterwear is not equipped for the BYU Bookstore. The guy behind me in line started talking to me, and we had a nice conversation, which made the line go a little faster.
I went to pay for my books and this older woman was my cashier. I looked at her and said, "I bet this is a fun time to work here." She was obviously stressed. She forced a laugh out and kind of looked at me funny. Whatever. The book wasn't an arm and a leg (thank goodness) because I'm trying to save money and figure out other ways to get my books (i.e. borrowing them from people who already took the class, renting them from people, etc.).
I left with a "good luck" to the woman, and booked it out of there.
Ya....looking back, it wasn't that fascinating, but considering I have this great relationship with the Bookstore, I figured I'd post about it. I considered doing a "100 things..." post where I posted 100 things about random subjects, like why I hate the Bookstore, or random facts about me (which nobody wants to hear about and I don't want to think about them)...but decided against it. I remember in Kindergarten when we had the 100th day of school celebration, and I brought like, 100 pieces of gum. Too bad I can't do that online. Oh well.

my squares suck at life. they look fine in this here comment box. but then they come out and its like. oh. thats crappy. and jill is the google person who used to work at village and whenever we're on the internet at work it is signed on under her name and i forget to change it.
Kayleigh, was the removed comment the BYU bookstore man?
haha no that was me trying to do another square....
Haha. I wondered who that was. It wasn't Roger. I should meet him one day. It would be pretty interesting.
Books.... uhg. The only reason I pay 120 bucks for an Adolescence's book is because I can sell it back for about 100 or something like that. So it's like I just paid 20 bucks to use it for the semester.
I went to the bookstore before any of the college kids had time to come back to rexburg, so I avoided that crazyness :)
I ended up having to get like, 8 books for one class. Stupid philosophy. BUT it was all I had to get, and I think the UVU bookstore is a lot more friendly the the BYU one. I was through the line and out the door within five minutes, AND they gave me a free bag of m&ms while I was waiting in line and said, "Thank you for buying at the UVU bookstore."
One word. Amazon.com. haha I always go there for my books first and I save so much money!! (half.com is good too!) For example... my anatomy book. Through the USU bookstore it would have cost me $160. I got it for $60. It's great. :)
Instead of leaked nude photos of celebrities, these hackers should leak text books. they'd be making such a difference.
