Skinhead (a.k.a. my padre)

I very much missed my dad today.

I made my first trip over to the completely different world of married housing to go to a study session where a guy from my peer review group lives (we all decided we would meet there to watch a movie on our Great Works list) and on going back to my car to park in the right place, she wouldn't start. I was so worried. What was I going to do if my poor car was in trouble!? Poor thing has been through so much in the past few months. So, the two guys in my group pushed my car into the visitor parking, and we went inside to watch the movie we were going to watch. After about an hour of the movie, I got a text from my dad, telling me how Vegas still smells (when I was little and we went to Vegas, I always complained about how it smelled, I guess). Then I realized that if my car was in serious trouble, there wasn't much I could do about it right now. My dad is the one who usually fixes my car, and if he's in Vegas, there's not much he can do for poor Stella! (she ended up being okay, though...the battery cable was loose)

So, I texted my dad for a little while, and it was good to talk to him again. I actually thought about calling him and asking him how things were going earlier today.

Then, later on tonight, my roommate was watching CSI: Miami (she's a die-hard fan). My internet decided to act up from where I was in the kitchen, so I went into the living room to see if it would work, and watched maybe five minutes of what she was watching. My dad and I always used to make fun of David Caruso on that show, and when I was watching it, I just wanted to keep making fun of 'Horatio' (that's his character's name), but I knew Allison would kill me. I knew my dad would appreciate my commentary on David Caruso's very...interesting acting skills.
For a while there, we didn't get along, but I'm attributing that to the fact that we're ridiculously similar. I think that's why my mom didn't know how to handle me a lot of the time when I was growing up...my sister has more of her personality, so she can figure out how to deal with that. But because I'm a girl with my dad's personality, I don't think she knew for sure how to handle the way I dealt with different situations. Made for some interesting times during junior high/high school.

Yup. I miss my dad.
He's a dork. What more can I say.

Wait, she's a die hard fan because she thinks it's GOOD?!?!? I am a die hard fan because it's the most unintentially hilarious show on televsion.

The divorce. Of. The Future. Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! (My best Horatio Cane impersonation.)

I don't get Kristina's comment. Is it because I've never watched that show and never will?

Ya. Probably.

Haha, but it made me laugh anyways, and I'm glad someone else agrees with me about Horatio.

I can understand this. I adored my dad and missed him like crazy. But then I married someone that had a lot of similar attributes and treated me just as good but better because he can't scold me :) And I still miss my dad, but it's so nice to have my husband around that listens like my dad does

Mr. Carusso was good in First Blood when Rambo broke his nose. Layed out and bleeding was the best shot of him. Then he went down hill from there. And he just keeps getting worse.

We need to sit and laugh at CSI:Miami one time to relive fond memories, if I don't puke first. :-)

Lov,
The bald man
