ladies and gentlemen, kayleigh (almost) jolley

sometimes i have the tendency to get somewhat annoying (those of you who know me well, please do not comment on that previous statement). i'm not a center-of-attention kind of person, but at times i really am. which means i embarrass myself and say irritating stupid things.

like in the middle of a critique in my illustration class.

a girl got up to explain who she painted a portrait of, and said it was her fiance. i proceeded to squeal with delight (okay, maybe not squeal with delight...i was just loud. very loud. with excitement. i love love. not a crime.) and asked to see her ring. from across the room. in the middle of a class critique.

a. nnoying.

at that point, i explained how i was engaged and was just super excited for her and how we're in the same boat, yadda yadda.

later in the class, a girl talked about how she hates engaged people and she thinks they're so annoying. she kept going on and on and i looked at her and said, "you just said you hate engaged people?"

at which point in the post, i insert this:

wedding flowers: $700
wedding cake: $200
wedding dress: $450
the look on her face: priceless.

it was nice being on the other side of the open-mouth-insert-foot spectrum, since usually i'm the one doing it.

she quickly backtracked, but sweetheart....your damage was done. lucky for you i've been in those shoes and wasn't even upset about it. it was just hilarious.

this is how us annoying engaged people act.
see? parker's engaged and not annoying.
it's just me.

stay tuned: updates on my wedding obsession (you have been warned). updates on my life (again, you have been warned).

surprise

so to try and improve my french, i've been re-reading my textbook.
i also decided to connect to some french radio. you know, immerse myself in the language.
so i connect to a french station. but they start playing this song.

really? oh come on. for a country that has the best pastries i've ever tasted and the most amazing art i've ever seen, you have to play rick james?

hilarious, but disappointing. i'll wait it out in hopes of some legit french coming on.

hello to the czech republic

wow. my day was made just now.

i went onto my sitemeter, which is probably the best invention since sliced bread (that and a 5 pound jar of pickles at sam's club for only $4) and noticed that someone from the czech republic viewed my blog.

how did they find it? they went onto google.
what did they put in the search engine?

bathrooms realizations

yes.
yes yes yes yes yes. man. sometimes i love people.

and i'm a little weirded out that apparently i blog about realizations in the bathroom.
oh well. potty humor isn't wasted on me.

good thing she likes chalk

when there are orange traffic cones outside of your apartment
with caution tape wrapped around them,
there's really only one thing to do.

Yup. These are the kinds of people I'm friends with (haha, kidding Whitney Leigh).

Before I go and immerse myself in massive amounts of procrastinated homework, I wanted to leave you with this link to my friend's blog. When I woke up from my nap today, I noticed that she had texted me something. She told me to go check out her blog, and when I did...this was what I found. Now, I find it pretty hilarious...but that's because she's one of my best friends and well, things hilarious to us may not be hilarious to others. But check it out if you're bored. it's worth the risk if you end up finding it hysterical (plus she's always complaining to me how she never updates her blog because nobody reads it...so happy early Christmas present, Whitney...haha, kidding).

I bid you adieu for a little while (hopefully "little while" meaning only until later tonight, but who knows) until I finish all of my writing homework.
